What makes Fanni Kertje wines so special?

Professional skill is very important to produce a fine wine. But besides that there is the family atmosphere surrounding our wine from the grapes to the mature drink. We have carefully selected our team members not only for their professional skills but for their human qualities as well. Since 2010 when we inherited this property we held long interviews in order to find the right partners to recreate our winery and become our ’family members’.

Common values like trust, caring, cooperation, understanding each other and taking time for personal life nurtures our wine like our ’common child’.

Fanni Kertje has created daring, honest and refreshing wines. Debuting in 2013 our young and fresh wine is not only for kings’ tables, but for queens’ tables as well. Or maybe for a table next to her laptop where she is working on a new novel surrounded by a circle of friends chatting and drinking this light and strikingly tasty wine.

Besides our young, new wines we have a stock of award winning wines from the past 13 years. The best bottles of our 12 thousand bottle stock are now on the maket as ’Heritage Wines’.

Winery

Winery

We have a modern wine producer factory with capacity of 600 hectoliters by temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and a 180 meters long cellar carved in tuff. Oak barrel`s and bottle`s maturation is taking place in the cellar. We mix our new and fresh wine-making style with the respected old tradition to get the best fruity wine of modern times.

Viticulture is made by own machines.

Vineyards

Vineyards

Our territories are situated in famed Tokaj region, in territory of Tarcal village, in the southwest slopes of Tokaj Hill. Here the soil is mainly loess with a volcanic substratum which gives full-bodied extract and flossy, light acid to our wine.

Our vineyars are in five different places, all classified for centuries as grape growing terroir. Named: Mestervolgy, Dobai, Mandulas, Mogyoros, and the legendary Mezes-Maly.

All largeness is 15 hectares. Grape types: 65% Furmint, 15% Harslevelu, 13% Zeta, 7% Muscat Lunel.

Yield is kept to approx. 35 hectoliters per hectare.
